CURRICULUM VITAE
2010
The past 4 years have been dedicated to Mental Health Advocacy as
CEO of the BIPOLAR Education Foundation and helping people with
mental illness.
2010
In view of the problems being experienced with collapsed and reset scrums
at international rugby level, I decided to update my scrummaging manual,
re-writing where needed. The new version the "RUGBY SCRUM TREATISE
is in the process of being published and distributed worldwide. Again it
seems I was 14 years ahead of my time. Agent of Change!
2006
Tonga Rugby Union (April-May) Applied for the position of National Head
Coach for `Ikale Tahi. After an extensive selection process finished second.
Selection Process coordinator was Mr. Andrew Stainlay.
2005
NSWRU - Scrummaging Consultant to the Waratahs Rugby Academy.
During November and December 2005, advisor to Ewen McKenzie and Tony
D'Arcy on technical aspects of scrummaging. Furthermore, conducted
several Coaching Clinics and scrummaging sessions with their development
squads.
2005 - 2004
Warringah Rugby Club (NSW) - Scrummaging & Forward Play Coach.
Coached 1st and 2nd Grades by request of Head Coach Mr. John Briggs,
throughout the season (January/September). Covering the areas of Scrum,
Line-out, Rucking and Mauling.
2003
Canada - Rugby World Cup
Appointed Forward & Scrum Consultant by Head Coach Mr. David Clarke.
Provided coaching services, tactics and strategies for the forward pack
during the tournament, assisted Canada in Buenos Aires Argentina during
their participation in the Pan-American Championships (Argentina, USA,
Uruguay & Canada)
2003
Norths Rugby Club - Head Coach, 3rd Grade, & Scrummaging Consultant
to 1st & 2nd Grades.
2002
Norths Rugby Club - Forward Coach and Technical Adviser to Colts
(Under 21's): 1st & 2nd Grade teams. (1st Grade: 2002 Grand Finalists)
Furthermore, have actively participated during the 2002 season as Scrum
Club Coach/Consultant on request to the Senior Teams (1st Grade and 2nd
Grade)
2000 - 2001
The Scots College, Co-Coach with Chris McBride for U. 16's A's & B's
provided advice on scrummaging and forward play to Paul Cooper (Sports
director) and to other Coaches and players in the school.
2000
Australian Barbarian Team
Appointed coach with Mr. Jeff Sayle (Manager) to play the Combined
Services XV at T.G.Millner field in September. Even though all international
players were unavailable for this fixture, we managed to put together a
highly competitive team of 1st Graders that took no time to display great
rugby skills, exceptional teamwork and marvellous understanding, beating
the Combined Services XV by 92 to10.
1999 - 2000
Sydney University F.C.
Forwards & Scrummaging Coach, assisting to First Grade Coaches as well
as providing advice to other club coaches and grades.
1999
Completed a refresher of Level II Rugby Coach course, run by the ARU
and the Australian Coaching Council. Content: 120-hour commitment
(lectures, theory and practical coaching)
1999
Appointed Manager & Forward Coach to the Australian Barbarian
Team with Mr. Geoff Mould (Backs Coach), to play FIJI R.U. at Nth Sydney
Oval. This was a very successful fixture that resurrected the viewing public's
interest in Barbarian Rugby and a launching step for several World Cup
winning Wallabies: J.Eales, S.Larkham, S. Staniforth, and O. Finnegan. We
won 35-32 in a very entertaining night match.
1998
Invited to join Sydney University F.C. in April, as Third Grade Co-Coach
with Mr. Rob Dalton. After winning the minor Premiership, we completed a
very successful season beating North's R.C. in the Grand Final, obtaining
the 1998 3rd Grade Championship.
1997 - 1998
Appointed Forwards Coach for West Harbour R.C. with Mr. Stephen
James (Backs Coach) assisting the Head Coach. This appointment was for
pre-season only, November-March 98, as I terminated my involvement with
the club in end of March 98 due to business commitments.
1997
1st Grade Coach, Colleagues R.F.C. (Kentwell Cup). Additionally provided
support and guidance to all Grade Coaches, and input into Selection
Committee meetings.
1997
Invited by the Argentine Rugby Union to give lectures on Spinal
Injuries Prevention and Scrummaging Technique & Safety.
1996
The Scots College, Technical and Safety Adviser, Forward Coach to U.
16's A's & B's, assisting to Paul Cooper (Head Coach U.16's).
1996
Invited by the Singapore Rugby Union to conduct Coaching Clinics for
their Coaches and Development Officers. Topics were: Scrum, Lineout, Ruck
& Maul, Safety and Fitness.
1995
Completed Level II National Rugby Union Coaching Scheme.
Accreditation Course organized by the NSWRU.
1995
Forward Coach, Australian Under 21's - Tour of Zimbabwe and
Argentina for the 1st Southern Hemisphere U. 21's Champ. Technical
Adviser to Mr. Ian Kennedy (Head Coach) and Mr.
Geoff Mould (Backs
Coach).
1991
Barbarian Football Club
Invited to play in the Centenary Celebration Tour Matches vs. Scotland
(Murrayfield), Cork Constitution RC (Cork) and Old Wesley RC (Dublin) -
Captained the team in the last 2 matches (39 y.o.).

Captained "Zebre XV" (Italian Barbarians) vs Italy at Mirano (Venice)
Match preparation for the RWC.
1988 - 1989
Coached 1st Grade Colts at Warringah RC, with additional responsibility
for assisting 2nd and 3rd Grade coaches.

World XV vs. Oxford University RFC - 120th Anniversary of Rugby
Celebration. Invited to join this World XV, together with a selection of
International players, Oxford, October 1989.

In 1992, played the full season in 1st Grade at the age of 40 finally retiring

Cordoba Province Selection (Captain in 1982 - 1983).
1978 - 1983
Tala Rugby Club and (We won the Provincial Championship for 5
consecutive years).
1981
Tahiti vs. France, Papetee, French Polynesia. Was invited by Tahitian
coach Robert Antonin (FFR) together with 3 All Blacks (Brett Codlin, Tim
Twigden and Robert Kururangi to reinforce the local selection playing
against the French team in Bastille Day, and returning from their tour of
Australia (1 test played, scored only Tahitian try)
1980
Tour of South Africa with the South America XV team (comprised of
80% Argentine players), played tests in Johannesburg and Durban. Scored
a pushover try at Wanderers, Johannesburg) Later that year the Springboks
travelled to South America and 2 full tests were played in Santiago (Chile)
and Montevideo (Uruguay) - I was capped in the 4 tests.

Commenced playing Rugby at 19 years of age with the National
University of Cordoba Rugby Team (while studying Psychology at the
National University). Having played first in the wing, centre, five-eighth I then
moved to the back row, finally finding home in any of the 3 front row
positions.
